About
My Work
I’m Lucy, a performer, facilitator, and creative producer with over 20 years’ experience in the arts. I graduated from Bretton Hall in 2001 with a BA Hons in Theatre Acting: Devised Performance, and since then, I’ve worked with a range of small North East–based companies and charities, bringing creativity and storytelling to diverse communities.
For over a decade, I’ve performed regularly with History Wardrobe, exploring women’s history through textiles. Together, the ‘Two Lucys’ bring history to life in theatres, libraries, heritage venues, and community spaces up and down the country.
Key Partnerships & Projects
-
MarkMark Productions: Street theatre on high streets and festivals, reaching audiences who might not otherwise engage with the arts.
-
Museums & Cultural Venues: Preston Park, Kirkleatham Museum, Weardale Railway, York Castle Museum—bringing historical characters to life and training staff in audience engagement.
-
The Auckland Project: Supporting storytelling of women’s histories through performance, research, and workshops.
-
Public Speaking: Invited to the Social History Conference at Durham University for a roundtable discussion on “What is Public History?”
Currently, I hold an Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice grant (2025–2026). I also work as Project Manager and Associate at Blue Cabin, a North East charity nurturing meaningful creative experiences for care-experienced individuals.

What Clients Say
Feedback from clients
and partners
“Lucy uses artistic licence to fill the gaps in the archives, telling stories that we too easily overlook, and bringing history to life in enjoyable and relatable ways”
Dr Barbara Crosbie, History Department, Durham University
“Lucy's dedication to shifting the narrative of County Durham's history to include the voices of women is both admirable and necessary. For too long, the history of our region has been told through a male lens, and Lucy's work is helping to rectify this imbalance by highlighting the stories of women who have been overlooked or forgotten.”
Laura Roberts, The Auckland Project
“Lucy is a joy to work with, both on stage or researching behind-the-scenes. She is dedicated, professional and versatile, bringing warmth and commitment to all her projects.”
Lucy Adlington, History Wardrobe
